This weekend – April 5-6, 2014 – The Society of Illustrators will be presenting their second MoCCA Arts Festival since they took over the event. Alternative Comics will not have an official table, but many of our artists will be at the show. We are also having a big sale of our digital titles on ComiXology all weekend.
Quick guide to AC artists at MoCCA:
Long time Alternative artists James Kochalka and Sam Henderson will both be at the show. You should be able to find them at the Top Shelf tables (A12 & A13). Sam will be representing for his collection of strips from Nickelodeon Magazine – Scene But Not Heard, co-published by Top Shelf and Alternative Comics.
Seth Kushner, whose Schmuck book – to be distributed by Alternative – has been burning up Kickstarter and many other parts of the interwebs, will be holding it down at F15 & F16 along with Gregory Benton as part of the Hang Dai Massive. Alternative veteran Dean Haspiel will also be at the show.
You will also want to go visit Jon Lewis and Gabrielle Bell who will be holding it down at the Uncivilized Books table (C25).
Retailers! Please say hello to Tony Shenton, who will be resting his heels at the NBM tables (B6 & B7) when he gets the chance. Tony can also sell our books to you.
